[Pb Battery]Scrap Batteries Trade at High on Shortage

Tight supply allowed scrap batteries to settle at a high of6,850-7,650 yuan per tonne, SMM stated.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 15 (SMM) – Tight supply allowed scrap batteries to settle at a high of 6,850-7,650 yuan per tonne, SMM stated.

Mainstream trading prices for motive batteries were 7,450-7,650 yuan per tonne and 6,850-7,150 yuan per tonne for automobile ones (white shell).

Large and medium smelters cut purchase for raw materials and tried to buy at lows to insure their profits. Anhui Huaxin Lead Industry Group purchased scrap motive batteries at 7,500 yuan per tonne and automobile batteries at 6,850 yuan per tonne. Anxin Huacheng Nonferrous Alloy Co. left procurement prices for automobile ones (white shell) at 6,900 yuan per tonne, while Henan Jinpeng Industry Co. cut prices to 6,900 yuan per tonne.
